The origins of this website etc
« on: February 01, 2014, 10:09:23 AM »
Hey guys, i've run the site for 10 years now!

this is for a good cause, i will let you more on the details later but i need some information

i need a little info from you as my memory is a little foggy. did the previous owner of the site just abandon it or did it vanish completely? i know i saved a copy of it and resurrected it obviously, but do any of you recall what happened?

I think that was a little before my time - didn't he pass if to you in an online way?

I remember Albert ... This is intriguing.

As far as I know, it was handed off. I'm not sure I was around for that, though.

From my memory the old Expect Delay site went to that "We are rebuilding the fat androids" message before going down entirely, and then this site came up in its place.

I remember Albert was wanting info on variations of different releases, as up to that point this site had the most comprehensive discography of the band (oh, the days before Discogs).  He was also very interested at the fan-made mashup of "I Only Said" and the Beastie Boys "So Whatchu Want", and actually traded some unspecified memorabilia for a CD-R of it to give to Kevin (who really liked it, from what I remember).

This also made me realize I joined the first iteration of this board when I was in high school.  My ten year reunion is in a few months.

I remember the Expect Delay site, though I didn't know this site was related to it beyond most of the info being pulled from it.

From my understanding that was the extent of it.  This site picked up where Expect Delay left off, basically.
