I think it's really fucking weird that people are saying it's a Slowdive reunion. I mean, Mojave 3 was kind of dull, but it's not like they 2 haven't worked together since Pygmalion. I'm also pretty sure a Slowdive reunion would be much mroe headline-grabbing than "Neil and Rachel (plus others)."

I still think a Slowdive reunion would be really disappointing.

All I can say is, seeing them live in the 90s was mesmerising; their wall of sound was only surpassed by mbv.

I would like to hear/see that again some day, but I doubt it will happen.

The closest chance nowadays is Black Hearted Brother, but there is no Rachel there.

The live videos of Slowdive do not do justice to their sound....

They are one of my favorite bands. I would love a full on reunion/tour

Someone (don't know who) once told me that Rachel has serious hearing problems and therefore can't really play in a rock band anymore. If that's true, it would make sense that this "reunion" is just an acoustic duo thing.

I don't doubt they were great, though I guess my only relative indifference to a Slowdive reunion is that unlike MBV, Slowdive didn't exactly go off at their peak (though i like Pygmalion), so there's no feeling of an unresolved resolution lingering. Also, quite a bit of Shoegaze is generally just Slowdive clones; even if they're not as good as Slowdive, they seem to have nailed Slowdive's sound pretty well to the point where a Slowdive reunion just seems like yet another Slowdive clone on the scene in my mind. It's basically the same reason I think, say, a Spacemen 3 reunion would be boring.

also, yeah, rachel's hearing problem. I was pretty sure that's why she left Mojave 3 a while back. I guess it could still happen; Mission of Burma reunited, after all.

Not a sniff of slowdive but Rachel said afterwards that they were going to play 'Alison', '40 days' and 'when the sun hits'. Apparently they will play them at tomorrow's gig ---/

Great.
