For me, 'if I am' is a compelling thing of exotic beauty.  The mere thought of it having been dropped from the album...that would be like an Orwellian Room 101 scenario.  I adore it.

Re: new you - post Brixton that tune live is an absolute highlight.  Rhythm section pulses powerfully beyond mere words equal to the intensity and wonder of the guitars.

I agree on both counts, "if i am", a glorious outpouring of heartfelt emotion. "new you", a Siren-esk clandestine spikey-neo-psychedelic masterpiece, especially live. (Sorry, that sounds a bit pretentious!)

Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere but NME posted a short interview with Kevin a couple of days ago where he confirms that the EP is in the works.

http://www.nme.com/news/my-bloody-valentine/71941

"The next step is to make an EP of all-new material," he said. "I’m also going to remaster 'Loveless' and 'Isn't Anything' and all the EPs in analogue to make pure analogue cuts, which has never happened before. "

New releases

There have been discussions in (at least) the German Music Press about Kevin's hints at possible new releases. In the Pitchfork interview he said: "The next step is to make an EP of all-new material. (...) But the main plan for next year is to make a new record." (http://pitchfork.com/features/interviews/9192-kevin-shields/) So there have been interpretations saying that the EP is due this year and another album will be following in 2014. What do you think?

(merged the topics.)

isn't he supposed to play new material at one of the upcoming Japanese shows? I guess that might be a good indicator. I know the EP has been promised for a while, though.

I'm quite sure 'new material' means songs from m b v. Especially since they've only played, what, four songs from that album?

probably, though I could've sworn Kevin himself said it would be something brand new.

EP maybe in the spring 2014 (wish it would be sooner, but that's a conservative, and yet still optimistic, prediction). new album? 2016 or 17.

quiet here.....  I wish there'd be no analog remasters if it is blocking the way of something new

pls. I want the EP to sound like city girl and beyond. Slightly off topic but does anyone know anything similiar to city girl? I need it.

Yes, we want the 'pretty, sweet, melodic song' that was removed from m b v - I hope it flows like City Girl.

Don't you think 'Kevin Song' is a bit City Girl-esque?
