Cheers.

That cover is sublime! Hope the music lives up. Am getting into the EP but it's not an easy listen....

Extremely clever music, mind.

Explain this comment. I find it extremely listenable - especially "Faults" itself, which is certainly one of the catchier pop tunes I've heard in a while. The last track is very abstract but still pretty easy on the ears.

Pop tune?? There's not a scrap of pop in that track! Right choice of words?

I'm comparing this EP to the first 5 Seefeel releases which are much easier on the ear, before they went to Warp. I'm an early Seefeel purist, but am still able to appreciate their newest work, even If I do find it hard work at times.

And almost every single person I've played this EP to has asked for it to be turned off, or said that it 'does their head in'.

Last time I listened I was quite stoned, and that seemed to work well with the abstract sounds on the EP.

But certainly no doubt that their new music is very, very cleverly produced.

Hope that helps.

Different frame of reference maybe? I don't listen to much indie rock any more and this EP is towards the more conventionally structured end of what I do listen to.

You honestly don't find the melody to "Faults" catchy?

I wouldn't say Faults is poppy, but it does get stuck in my head.

So it's catchy, without being overtly (gauchely) poppy. A bit like MBV, in fact.

I would maintain that "Faults" (the song) is as poppy or poppier than any early Seefeel "hit", such as "Plainsong" or "Time to Find Me".

BTW, has anyone heard the new album by Seefeel founder Mark Van Hoen? It's pretty great.

Your claiming that Succour and CH/VOX are easier on the ear than the  new EP?

I think you might need your ears testing.

Yeah, Faults is clearly more accessible than CH-Vox!

Anyway, new self-titled Seefeel album in February 2010. Can't wait!!

:o I think you might need to do a bit more research: I said the first FIVE Seefeel releases.

I've been into them from their debut 1993 and I've seen them live several times; I kinda know what I'm talking about, mate.

I've been looking for a leak but no luck yet. Naturally, I've pre-ordered the vinyl but I just can't wait.

It comes out on Jan 31st apparently. There's at least one review online, so the promos must have gone out.

To tide you over, here's an MP3 of "Dead Guitars":

here's what I could find. There were also some incomplete files, but I didn't bother with them. Only 3 tracks, though, 1 of which si an extended version of Faults. =/

Hmmm... those songs seem pretty abstract, not to mention short. Seem more like interludes than actual tracks. I like them, though.
